Mom's In Seattle

Hi - Checker's mom here - Larkin and I are in Seattle - horrid flight - ranks up there as top 3 worst flights ever - but we got some sleep on Monday night and had a great day here in Seattle today - took some pics which I'll post when I get home

Checkers is having fun with Susanne and her pups - he's not missing us at all.

If you ever go to Seattle check out Pike's Market - it's AMAZING - loved it!

I've had emails from several of you telling me you're having trouble viewing our blog. ME TOO - cannot get to it in IE - it opens then closes - I don't have trouble in Google Chrome or Safari - but IE shuts me down - same problem with a few other blogs too - guess it's an IE problem and not my computer -

Anyway - Suzi might post the wedding party tonight - or tomorrow - otherwise I will wait till I get home and let Checkers post it himself.

Take care everyone and cross paws and fingers that our flight home on Thursday evening is far less eventful than the one coming out here yesterday.

Here I Am

I know it seems as though I've been egnoring everyone-but I haven't.   Mom's been busy with this job search/research/talking on the phone thing....and then yesterday she had a terrible time with her headaches and barely got out of bed -  but here I am blurry pictures and all

First - I got a package from Mason Dixie for winning the WIGGLE WALK - there were these yummy treats in it -  and a very nice note -  sadly mom and the camera didn't cooperate so well - but belive me they are terrific - and a BIG thanks to Mason Dixie for the treats!

On Friday I got a big box of goodies from my love Suzuki -  look at all those stamps from OZ
There were 3 shirts in the box - Suzi know how much I like to be dapper
There were snacks and toys
and one of those ropse that I love to play with
I'm looking at my box now!!!!
and a beer can...hehe

i'm chilling out in my new shirt

mom doesn't remember what was happening here - but obviously I wanted something from daddy
mom forgot to show my food bowls on True Colors Thursday - here they are
This is me playing with my favorite toy from Mason Dixie - sadly he was destuffed shortly after this photo was taken
jus me being me

me, another shirt another toy - also destuffed since this photo taken yesterday -

I got groomed on Friday - mom will try to get some photos but she's just not up to snuff and I'm not cooperating so much either  -

Mom and Dad are going to Seattle on June 8 for an "opportunity"  - this is the new job thing they are looking at -  apparently I'm not going to be able to go - but I get to stay with my beloved Susanne - who has 4 dogs that play with me a lot - so I hope I don't miss them too much....I want to go too but mom says they will be very busy and I would have to be in the hotel room too much so she thinks I will be happier at Susanne's -

Hi Mom - I'm Coming Home

Found this email from Checkers when I got up this morning -

Hey Mom -  I wanted to get this off to you before the plane takes off - not sure if I'll get service in the air!!!!!

Rambo, Lady and I are headed back to the states...... we've had a blast!  But Rambo and I have a bit of a hangover - hope you don't mind!  Those Aussies like their beer!

Lady has been obsessed with Scooby's illness so I'm not sure if she had such a great time pawting as we did, but she sure was happy to be with Scooby.   She was by his side 24/7 - going to the vet and keeping a close eye on his bleeding.   Apparently he will have to have come changes in his diet!  But I'm sure his loving mom will keep a close watch on that just as you do for me.   He is wearing a  collar to keep from licking himself - poor guy -  so it was hard for him to kiss Lady -  but she is very understanding.

This surfing is incredible.  Suzi is magnificent -  I bet she could win a contest doing this.  She said I was a natural but I think it was probably just "love talk"  -   But, just in case I really am a good,  can I get a boogie board when I get home?

Talia was so excited -  she was bouncing off the walls and keeping the neighbors and their dogs up.
BOL -  Rambo thought that was hilarious and egged her on...even chimed in occasionally.    You'll be glad to know that Suzuki and I behaved and did NOT encourage their bad behavior...we were too busy being in love.   Miss Shannon finally got them to settle down by putting them to bed -  TOGETHER - and they got to go to the big human bed.  Cool huh?

Miss Shannon was quite the chef - The menu for the evening was:

Dinner:
A serving of biscuits each
A hamburger from Hungry Jacks each (known as Burger King in the USA)  - yes I ate the beef - but I'm doing okay!
Ice Cream Cake (one slice each)
and a large variety of treats throughout the evening
Breakfast:
Toast
Bacon
Eggs
Tahlia also had a side dish of mouse  - I'm not sure why they served mouse as I never saw any cats!

Rambo  was checking things out and saw what Midget was posting -  he was not thrilled that she was "taking over"   so I would advise her to hide away for a bit upon his return.

This kangaroo came up trying to tease Scooby since he was "indisposed"  -
But don't worry, Rambo and I took care of him   - this is a picture of him after the encounter!

I understand that TANK  has doubts about our visit -  tell him we will talk upon my return -  I'll try to Tweet him in a bit.

All in all it was a delightful week-end - although I think that Miss Shannon is totally  "pupped out" -  She probably did way too much with that bad back

I will have more pics for you when I get home and I'm sure Miss Shannon will send you some too.

See  you later.....love you much!   Give daddy and Livy some licks for me!

Vivisting Suzuki

Hello pups -  I am posting for Checkers this morning as he is off to Western Australia for Tahlia's birthday and a visit with  his love Suzuki -  there is a letter below for the little guy -  but, in the meantime he wanted me to share a couple of photos before he left  .

This is the gang on the plane with Scruff - Scruff was so nice to do this for Tahlia and her brothers and their friends.
Now, here's Checkers' letter I received this morning

Hey Mom - Thanks for letting me "borrow" the I-Phone -  it's the only way I've been able to  keep in touch with my pup pals.    I'm ver busy so I'm hoping you will post this for me.... Suzuki took me surfing today and now we are just spending some quality time on the lounge waiting for her Dad to get home.
Suzi's  Mummy said you can share these photos with my friends if you like because she is not sure when she will be able to post all the photos.

Suzi's package that we mailed arrived about 5 minutes after we did.   Gives new meaning to the term "snail mail"  - I should have just brought it with me!     I don't think her Mum got any photos of me watching her open it though because I was outside at the time (long flight you know...)  I miss you.
Checkers  - xoxoxoxox

Well, pups,  I suppose I will get more later - but it looks like they are certainly having a pawsome time.......I miss my little guy but it's important that he experience the world.

It was a very quiet Easter here without Livy. No baskets, no egg hunts. We went to the park to watch all the other little ones hunt eggs yesterday - but it was a little sad without Livy. She'll be back on Wednesday so we'll have to make up for it then. Hopefully she and my daddy can participate in the Chalk The Walk during Dogwood Arts next week-end. They haven't been accepted yet - but I'm sure they will be accepted because Livy is quite the artist - here's what she was working on at last year's Chalk the Walk here in Oak Ridge

If not having Livy weren't enough of a downer for today I get news that my sweet Suzuki is in the "line of fire" down there in Australia - I was so worried about her that I was just pacing back and forth, back and forth!

Because of my nervous activity about Suzuki mom decided we would go to a new dog park that mommy discovered. The people who make petsafe fences [I don't have one] have a really pretty park that is not very far from our house. It's a very big park with a "reservoir' and an agility course. There were a lot of doggies there - a lot of REALLY big doggies there. Consequently mommy and daddy were a little nervous for me. There was a doberman and a rottie who were fairly aggressive, especially with each other and then they started picking on a little bulldog so mommy thought it best we leave before they came after little ole me. Mommy didn't understand why their owners didn't take them away or at least keep them apart.

But, before we left they took me to another part of the park where I did a lot of running on my own. A couple of little shih tzus came - one was black and white like me - but he kept peeing on everything - including my nose. I didn't like that so much! He was a busy little guy but he didn't want to play. His sister was a real fraidy cat too - and she never got off her leash.

Since I didn't get any Easter "treats" because of my stoopid liver - mom made me a special dinner of pork roast, creamy potatoes, english peas and organic carrots.....It was very yummy!

Mom will post pics from the dog park tomorrow.

I heard from Suzuki a few minutes ago - she's okay and so is the rest of her family.

A date with Suzuki

It has been a whirlwind of romance here. The totally magnificent SUZUKI arrived here in The Secret City for a little fun with none other than me! Mom got her friend Robert H to fly his WWII Stearman over to pick SUZI up. It was a rather long and windy flight for her - but she was absolutely stunning upon her arrival.

Our first stop was at Melton Lake where we popped in on one of the crews preparing for the next regatta. I took charge as the "cockspup" [I think I'm on the wrong end] - but nevertheless there I was with SUZI riding along with great joy. [you might need to click on the photo to see us]

Once we finished the tiring work of getting our boat to the finish line we headed off to Razzelberry's for an ice cream cone. We share a lot of licks and giggles.

As our time was nearing I had one more place that I wanted SUZI to see and that was the FRIENDSHIP BELL

The bell is an expression of the hope for everlasting peace, friendship, and understanding among all people of the world.
I don't seem to have a photo of us at the bell but SUZI might.
SUZI had to return to Australia because she is a very busy reporter as her alter ego Bark Kent, she needed to get back to work. I hope that she will make a return trip to Oak Ridge soon - or perhaps I can scoot off to Australia myself. I hope she had a great flight home!
Thanks Scooby for hooking me up with the totally pawsome SUZI - you are so lucky that you are with her every day.
