it's been a long time

It's been a long time since we were here letting all our friends know what's happening.  Sorry - nothing too exciting!   Mom's moving her office and has been leaving me at home - A LOT - I'm not liking that -  but then, it's hot and at least I'm in the air conditioning.

There's a new doggie in the office.  Yep - mom is sharing an office space with a lady that has a little dog named Sugar.   She is a Yorkie - Peek-a-Poo !   Maybe she's related to me!  Well, I'm going to be the dominant one in that office.  You walk in she squats down then rolls over for belly rubs.....pretty neat trick but I'm not buying.   She's only 1/2 my size so I just go over and sit on her!

Mom is busy getting ready for the Pumpkin Festival  .   She's trying to raise sponsor money now - some brilliant board member decided to have all free food for the kids - but didn't figure out how to pay for it - So now mom's scrambling.   If you want to help her out you can go to the WebSite  Pumpkin Festival  and donate a couple of bucks.  $10 will feed 5 kids.    She's expecting about 1000 of those little two leggers!

She's also working on her Holiday Market -  She's real pleased because she got TWO Media Sponsors for this event....so she will have lots of media coverage.  YEAH MOM!!!!   She's got that big 60" Christmas Tree that used to be in the lake at Dollywood and she has a real live sleigh that Santa will be sitting in for picture taking.   She's also got carolers, and chestnuts and lots of new vendors.   She is bound and determined that this will be the largest Holiday Event in East Tennessee within 5 years.     Go mom! Go!

Of course, she's go Board Members who are mean and nasty.   I keep telling her they are just jealous because they can't do what she does so they keep trying to stir the pot up.  Karma!  Karma!  Karma!

That's what happening with us..........What are all of you up to?   I heard that Tank was fighting with Sam and Pippen.  Now he's concerned about the lack o food he's getting -  and something about N. Dakota!  Oh yeah and he is really HAWT!    Well if he makes it to N. Dakota, tell him to stop and see my mom's favorite niece up in Minot.   She's got a little two legger and a hubby that flys those big bomber planes -

I'm a Guard Dog

Recently there has been an awful lot of crime in Oak Ridge - so I've taken up the responsibility of making absolutely certain that my mom is protected throuhout the day - This is me on Guard Duty -

I think I might hear something!

Me and the Livy - and daddy too

Yester day was the day S.A.R.G trys to get people out to take pictures of their pets as a fundraiser. Well, mom was doing her volunteer stuff at The Alexander so she left the task up to my daddy and livy. Check out the pics - Daddy let Livy go out in her pj's without brushing her hair - dad said, "Checkers' hasn't been groomed in months so they match" [hey it's East Tennessee and all] - when mom saw the pics she almost had a stroke....but she does admit they are cute.

Anywho - mom said that for every one who comments on this she will donate $2 to S.A.R.G - and for every new friend I get [i have 85] she will donate $5 - so send people my way and we'll make a big donation to S.A.R.G

I have not been a good boy

Well, so far it's been a pretty busy week for mom - early Monday we headed over to the revitalization office before doing other things. Mom was busy getting stuff cleaned up in her little "dungeon" as the board calls it. The retail stores upstairs were still closed but the stairway was open and I was running around playing. Well, mom went to take the trash out and she did as she always does and carefully pushed the door closed so I couldn't get out - what mom didn't know was that I had already snuck past her out the door. She went back inside and of course, I was not there to greet her as I was outside. At first she just thought I was upstairs running through The Ferrell Shop so she called out...when I didn't come she went upstairs to look for me but she couldn't find me. She went outside in a panic and started yelling "Checkers, Checkers" - I didn't come so she really got scared - she started running around outside like the crazy blonde she is - some woman pointed to tell her I went in one direction and mom started running that way - she didn't find me. Then someone pointed in another direction toward the Gee mom, what's all the yelling about!"

Mom picked me up and hugged me to death almost. then she gave me a little talk about not doing that again and we went back to the office for a promotions meeting.

So now I'm in a meeting with these people getting lots of loving and enjoying it all. Then Barbara remembers that the shop is closed upstairs so she needs to go put the mail basket outside because mom is expecting a big check and we don't want to miss out on that money. Frankly I don't give a flip about the money but I know that if Barbara is going up there to put the mail basket out that means the front door is about to open up and if I'm sneaky I can get past Barbara just like I did mom. Sure enough I pulled one over on her and shot out that door the instant she opened it. Barbara must have better eyes than mom because she saw me go - I got all the way to the park before she caught up with me...I'm a LOT faster than those old women!

I got ANOTHER lecture!!!!! By now I was pretty tuckered out - so I moved on over to Mary and found a nice cushiony place to rest up for my next adventure.....

I got a lot of good loving from Mary. And I had to give her a lot of love back because she is a little sad still because just last week she had to let her 14 year old lab go to the rainbow bridge and I know she really misses him so I gave her EXTRA special love....and she didn't fuss at me either.

Today there was a lot of going and coming but Mom kept a really close eye one me....she even threatened me with a leash
