True Colours Thursday
Before I get into TRUE COLOUR - I want to ask all pups to say a special prayer for Golden Boy Luke today - he's having surgery - and his mom is very nervous - I imagine Luke isn't too happy either. I just hope there are no thunder storms in Houston to increase his anxiety! We're thinking of you buddy!
Today's TRUE COLOUR is CERISE According to Maerz and Paul in their Dictionary of Color, the first recorded use of CERISE as a color name in English was in 1858.[1] However, it was used at least as early as 1846 in a book of crochet patterns.[2] The CERISE color name comes from the French word meaning cherry. The word "cherry" itself comes from the Norman CERISE. So I guess CERISE is cherry pink cause it sure isn't DEEP RED.

there is an azalea called "CERISE" - we have one - there is probably a rose that is colored CERISE - but we don't have any of those - Bumble bee is an extra treat~
this is the bag that the tooth fairy leaves "golden dollars" in for Livy - it's CERISE
one of mom's favorite artists is Elisabeth Maria Becker...this is one of her original water colors, Elisabeth likes the color CERISE - unfortunately the flash detracts but mom can't figure out how to turn the flash off - this is one of the reasons we didn't have RAINBOW last week!
this is a Taos Sunset - also by Elisabeth Becker - with a CERISE sunset - mom has several other Becker pieces with CERISE in them...but they are nudes and mom worried about them offending someone - one of them is mom so I think she's just too embarrassed to put it up - but she was young and thin and cute when it was done....so........
this is a pair of mom's shoes - you knew she'd have shoes to go with the True Colors didn't you?
this is mom's I-phone....yep, she's got a hot pink cover! does this qualify as CERISE?
this is mom's laptop bag.....now that's what I call HOT PINK but mom says CERISE
Mom wants to apologize to all for her rants about the X-DIL - she said this is not the forum for it and she shouldn't have done it. She thinks, after reading, that it all sounds like white trash drama and, of course mom is not WT! [no comment on the x-dil] Bottom line is that the X-DIL has mental problems, and in spite of the diagnosis of her being bi-polar the family court judge continues to allow her to do this stuff....so, we're just going to have to find a way to make the little one be happy. We promise no more rants on her.

Wordless Wednesday - NOT TODAY
these Iris[es] are at least 100 years old. Now how is that possible you ask....well, these bulbs have been in my mommy's family since around the year 1900. That's right, they belonged to my mommy's GREAT grandmother and have been split, dug up, moved and hauled around to wherever my mommy has lived - Her great grandmother gave them to her grandmother to plant in her 1st house back in 1914 - then her grandmother gave them to her mother in 1942 to plant in her yard, then her mother gave them to her in 1973 to plant in her yard....and my mommy has carried them with her from Memphis to Chicago to Raleigh NC, to Dallas TX, to Atlanta Ga, to McComb MS and now to Oak Ridge TN - isn't that neat????
CHECK THIS OUT....a package from Mason Dixie - WOW! I never had a package before!
that's a pretty fancy envelope that Mason Dixie Found
this one is my favorite
hmmmmmm.....these look interesting
this one makes crunchy noises
I don't know which one to choose
Now I just can't decide which one to play with!!!!!!!

I had just gotten this a week or so ago from another friend and I am just so honored that another friend has passed this along to me again......this time I think I just want to offer it to any friend who might read this blog today but has never received the award before........THANKS LUKE
_________
we had a pretty boring day here on Monday it was all rainy and stuff again so I couldn't go out to play anywhere - daddy was upset because the grass is so high from all the rain and he can't get out to mow - not that it matters because the mower is broken and he has to go to the Home Depot to buy a new one.....at least that is his excuse. Mom has migraines from the storm fronts so she's been kinda cranky for a few days - couple that with the "change" and she can be a total terror.....and then there is the X-daughter in law thing - Livy was supposed to make First Holy Communion but the X daughter in law refused to let her go....mom was all upset because she and Livy have been preparing for this for years....Livy was supposed to wear mom's dress which came all the way from Spain way back in the 1950"s - from when she made First Communion and they had spent a lot of last week-end making the flower wreath for her hair and mom had gotten her a special purse and rosary and prayer book that came all the way from members of mom's biological family that they bought in Ireland last year just for this special occassion..... but no, the witch, with a capital B - didn't let it happen!!!!! Oh dear - I've gone off on one of my rants about the X - we don't like her so much!!!
ANYWAY - We are going to Nashville this week-end. Daddy has a meeting so mom and I are tagging along. Mom's ticked because she can't find a Hilton that is dog friendly and we are going to be stuck in a Sheraton. She doesn't like Sheraton....I don't give a flip as long as they alow dogs....Mom's been telling me about a BBQ place with a pigs that fly

apparently this Jack guy is an old friend of hers [I think they dated about 40 years ago -before she met daddy] Anyway this Jack guy is really famous with his BBQ - I wonder if he will let me in......All I know about him is that he makes good BBQ and he rides Hunt ... whatever that is! Mom has other friends in Nashville too - so I think she's going to visit with some of them - she said we'll go to the Blue Bird Cafe one night - and there is some other restaurant that they will go eat at - it's been there forever too - it's where they first met - the get real nostaligic about stuff like that.....so I guess we'll have a good time.
Now on to other things!!!!!!
Minnie-Moo has this challenge posted on her blog:
Let's see your face in a hole!! Visit the site and do a FACEinHOLE photo for your blog and then post a link to it on here so I can see. If you call your post "Minnie-Moo;s Challenge" you have a chance of winning a small prize. You have until 18 May to post one.

Friends Forever Contest
My friend Khyra introduced me to Daisy today. She is having a neat birthday contest.I thought and thought and thought about which friend to introduce. So many of you have been so nice to me and it is hard - but I decided on Golden Boy Lucky Luke - because he is new to blogging and he doesn't have so many friends yet ....Luke is a rescue living in Texas - he's still got a few issues with storms and sometimes doesn't understand all the love he gets in his new furever home but he's making progress....So, I hope that all of my good friends will visit Daisy and introduce yourself - even if you don't want to enter the contest....and remember to also drop by to see LUKE
Now here's a little video of me and the little one - we wrestled - I'm not sure who won....what do you think?

Just Chillin in East Tennessee & an award
Since my return from Western Australia I've sort of just been chillin. I got back just in time for the Kentucky Derby - Mom had Mint Juleps prepared and was just waiting on daddy to get home - I took a quick look at the betting sheets - I had taken the time to familarize myself with the horses via that the handy I-phone on the plane so I was ready to call the race for Mom and Dad. Mom placed her bets - Dad placed his [this is why he was late getting home] and we all settled in for the race! I told them they should bet on the horse with the pink silks [you can review my tweets to confirm this] but they said NO!!!! What fools they were! A shock to all when Mine That Bird ran away from the pack and won the race!!!!! YEAH for him and big licks to that little jockey Calvin for another great win .... two years in a row at the derby.

Daddy said that if they could find a small enough jockey he thought I could beat that horse! hehehe!
When I got home I discovered that those little bully dogs from New York had given me this "Lovely Blog" Award

1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link.
2) Pass the award to up to 15 other blogs that you've newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.
Now comes the hard part...passing it on......well, I totally hate trying to "choose" any - so, I asked mom to put all my friends in a hat and I would pull out the names - so here goes [if you already have it sorry - just pass it on - if I left you out - sorry, maybe your name will get pulled next time!]
and to anyone who reads this you are also welcome to the award.....so snag it!!!!!!
Now, I need some help with mom....everyone knows that I am a picky eater. I don't make a secret of it...it's just the way I am. Well, mom has been trying to "hold out" thinking I will give in and eat the kibble if she waits long enough - it's not working! It is almost 11:00 here in East Tennessee and so far she hasn't even put so much as a single piece of kibble in my bowl. They had pancakes for breakfast....they did NOT share....and here I am, tiny little guy, sweet little guy, entertaining little guy....and not even a single piece of kibble. Can somebody tell her to get up off her old, blonde, southern and now LAZY butt and scramble me some eggs!

Hi Mom - I'm Coming Home
Found this email from Checkers when I got up this morning -
Talia was so excited - she was bouncing off the walls and keeping the neighbors and their dogs up. BOL - Rambo thought that was hilarious and egged her on...even chimed in occasionally. You'll be glad to know that Suzuki and I behaved and did NOT encourage their bad behavior...we were too busy being in love. Miss Shannon finally got them to settle down by putting them to bed - TOGETHER - and they got to go to the big human bed. Cool huh?

Hey Mom - I wanted to get this off to you before the plane takes off - not sure if I'll get service in the air!!!!!
Rambo, Lady and I are headed back to the states...... we've had a blast! But Rambo and I have a bit of a hangover - hope you don't mind! Those Aussies like their beer!
Lady has been obsessed with Scooby's illness so I'm not sure if she had such a great time pawting as we did, but she sure was happy to be with Scooby. She was by his side 24/7 - going to the vet and keeping a close eye on his bleeding. Apparently he will have to have come changes in his diet! But I'm sure his loving mom will keep a close watch on that just as you do for me. He is wearing a collar to keep from licking himself - poor guy - so it was hard for him to kiss Lady - but she is very understanding.
This surfing is incredible. Suzi is magnificent - I bet she could win a contest doing this. She said I was a natural but I think it was probably just "love talk" - But, just in case I really am a good, can I get a boogie board when I get home?

Miss Shannon was quite the chef - The menu for the evening was:
Dinner:
A serving of biscuits each
A hamburger from Hungry Jacks each (known as Burger King in the USA) - yes I ate the beef - but I'm doing okay!
Ice Cream Cake (one slice each)
and a large variety of treats throughout the evening
Breakfast:
Toast
Bacon
Eggs
Tahlia also had a side dish of mouse - I'm not sure why they served mouse as I never saw any cats!
Rambo was checking things out and saw what Midget was posting - he was not thrilled that she was "taking over" so I would advise her to hide away for a bit upon his return.

This kangaroo came up trying to tease Scooby since he was "indisposed" -

But don't worry, Rambo and I took care of him - this is a picture of him after the encounter!
I understand that TANK has doubts about our visit - tell him we will talk upon my return - I'll try to Tweet him in a bit.
All in all it was a delightful week-end - although I think that Miss Shannon is totally "pupped out" - She probably did way too much with that bad back
I will have more pics for you when I get home and I'm sure Miss Shannon will send you some too.
See you later.....love you much! Give daddy and Livy some licks for me!

Vivisting Suzuki
Hello pups - I am posting for Checkers this morning as he is off to Western Australia for Tahlia's birthday and a visit with his love Suzuki - there is a letter below for the little guy - but, in the meantime he wanted me to share a couple of photos before he left .
This is the gang on the plane with Scruff - Scruff was so nice to do this for Tahlia and her brothers and their friends.

Now, here's Checkers' letter I received this morning
Hey Mom - Thanks for letting me "borrow" the I-Phone - it's the only way I've been able to keep in touch with my pup pals. I'm ver busy so I'm hoping you will post this for me.... Suzuki took me surfing today and now we are just spending some quality time on the lounge waiting for her Dad to get home.
Suzi's Mummy said you can share these photos with my friends if you like because she is not sure when she will be able to post all the photos.
Suzi's package that we mailed arrived about 5 minutes after we did. Gives new meaning to the term "snail mail" - I should have just brought it with me! I don't think her Mum got any photos of me watching her open it though because I was outside at the time (long flight you know...) I miss you.
Checkers - xoxoxoxox
Well, pups, I suppose I will get more later - but it looks like they are certainly having a pawsome time.......I miss my little guy but it's important that he experience the world.
