Knoxville Botanical Gardens

Today the weather was actually pretty nice - temp was in the mid 80's with very little humidity so we went to the new botanical gardens in Knoxville - There is some terrific history to the property - and the start of the gardens is quite nice - but there is a lot of work to be done out there - and they are situated in a rather dicey neighborhood - so not sure if we'll be going back anytime soon

The best part was that they took my leash of for a good part of the walk.

The olde blonde forgot the camera - so these were all taken on the phone - sorry -!

when we finished our little hike through the "woods" - we were pretty hot and thirsty and there was NO WATER in site - As we drove back through the "hood" we stopped at a fast food spot and got 2 Orange Julias' and a sweet tea for mom. Then, after that refreshment we drove to Turkey Creek and went to O'Doul's Burgers - where there is outside seating - for a little lunch.

  10. What a lovely day you had - and offleash too! Wow! Despite the 'dicey' neighborhood you write of, I really like places that are sort of "unfinished" - they have their own beauty. Thanks for sharing this special day!

  12. I like the pictures, my Mom takes a lot of my pictures from a camera phone thingy. Did you get to have orange julius?? That sounds good. Sometimes once in a while I get a little Dairy Queen, but mostly I just get the cone since the ice milk makes me go potty in the house. Seriously I have no choice.

  15. We enjoyed the photos - loved the hostas - must have very few slugs around there!! We were out killing slugs in the garden at midnight last night - warm and humid here and we couldn't sleep - but the slugs still got to the hostas!!

    Take care

  19. Hi Checkers,

That is the kinda place mom likes to visit. Gardens and old buildings. It looked to be nice and shady too. Glad you were able to get out and enjoy some nice weather.

  21. Hey, Checkers...as you know things have been CRAZY at my house so I'm sorry I haven't been to visit you the past couple days. I understand that hot stuff...it is a little cooler here this week then it was last. Those gardens look like a great place to visit. Whats the problem with the dicey neighborhood? Doesn't your mom and dad know you will protect them?
